Oakville sits along the north shore of Lake Ontario in Halton Region

It is halfway between Toronto and Hamilton and a 30-minute-drive from downtown Toronto.

Old Oakville has a quaint village feel, complete with trendy restaurants, great bars and specialty shops. There are also a few high-end boutiques, most of which are located along Lakeshore Boulevard. The area also boasts art galleries housed in historic buildings. 1

There are hundreds of parks in Oakville where you can walk along the path, play games with the kids, go swimming at the beach, or participate in some water sports.

The pier is a great place for a stroll to take in the view.
